A Little Poem

As the earth turns green, our hearts peep a little stronger! At Christmas time I shared a version of the below poem with family and friends. Today it seemed fitting to share here.

Another year since Spring has passed. So many sweet times we wish would last.

Like summer days when the hay dries well, and when little birds sing Spring bells. When the soil is turned & the seeds are in the ground. When there are quiet nights, and rest, and fresh rain.

When those little seeds turn to grain.

We have hopes, too, through pain.

The best days start with full udders and happy cows, and end with happy farmers who’ve worked from sun-up to sun-down.

This Season begins with so many prayers & dreams, but mother nature & the Lord have plans, it seems.  We are along for the bumpy, joyful ride, and we must be eager, and thrive.

So many things to fix and improve. So many critters on the move. Who will decide its adventure day and who will poop all over their hay? Who will climb over, or through, the fence? What kind of day will commence?

A baby is being born again today. Get momma some warm water and fresh hay. Observe. The wonders of new life greet us and make our hearts swell.

There are trying days too. We must gather our strength & change our view. There is no use in staying weary too long. Too many tails are wagging & souls cheering us along.

May you be blessed with joy among the aches. May you wrap yourself in your family and friend’s sweet embrace.

  2. We enjoy your farm reports. I tried to respond soon after we got it but I got lost in the technical issues and dropped what I was doing.
